We teach by example. This week we've been playing tennis and running the bleachers as well as cooking together. This morning we hiked one of our favorite 2 mile hikes. It isn't always easy to find the time once school starts but limiting TV times and finding what your family likes for exercise is key. My kids don't play soccer, even though everyone else seems to enjoy it. We walk a lot and look at nature but we also have inside videos we do in the winter and see who can do the most push ups or crunches in a day. I've also taught my family to "Eat the Rainbow" to get the most out of our fruits and vegetables. We grow in the summer most of our vegetables and pick from the garden as well. We don't have a large yard but we make it work, even if it means growing beans and onions in the front yard.! Neighbors used to laugh but now they are doing it too. My husband lost 19 pounds this year! He has limited his been consumption to once or twice a month and snacks on fruit in the evening. It made a huge difference.
